When must I pull a permit?
• Fence
• Siding
• Roof
• Framing
• Sheetrock
• Plumbing over $1,000 in cost
• Heaters- gas, oil, electric
• Mobile Home Setup
• Stucco
• Windows- Only if the size of the window is changing or being reframed around it
• Additions
• Decks
• Demolition
• Foundations, including any and all structures
• Gas Pressure Test
• Handicap ramps
• Heating, Ventilation and Cooling
• New Construction
• Retaining Walls- over 48 inches in height
• Water or Sewer Lines
• Street Cuts
• Curb & Gutters
• Water Heaters
• Tanks
• Signs
• Sheds over 150 sq. feet
• Communication Towers
• Solar Panels
• Concrete work on City property, including city right of ways and easements, such as sidewalks
When do I NOT need a permit?
• Flat work such as driveways and concrete patios. However, all structural foundations require a permit.
• Windows- Only if the size of the window IS NOT changing
• Flooring such as carpet, tile, linoleum etc.
• Cabinets
• Painting
• Retaining Walls- under 48 inches in height
• Sprinkler systems
• Maintenance of vegetation
• Plumbing under $1,000 in cost
• Replace light fixtures
• Sheds under 150 sq. feet
What permits require a plan review?
