A huge THANK YOU to everyone who rolled up their sleeves for the City’s Community Clean-Up last week! Together, 67 volunteers tackled three big projects!
Trash Pickup on Cedar Street (from Walmart to Econolodge) and Higley Blvd (from Murray to Cedar) made our town look fresher and cleaner thanks to the 46 people who picked up 280 pounds of trash. A crew also cleaned the Pedestrian Underpass at Front and 6th Street. Special shoutout to the Rawlins Senior Center for sending 11 volunteers for trash pickup.
When lightning got too close, the Wyoming Frontier Prison crew shifted gears and headed to the Rawlins Rochelle Animal Shelter. There, they:
- Power-washed kennels
- Deep-cleaned the cat room
- Walked every dog
- And gave all the animals the love and attention they deserve
Special shoutout to the Wyoming Frontier Prison for sending 16 volunteers.
Meanwhile, the Rawlins Fire Department and Community Development staff tackled the overgrown tree area on Higley Blvd across from the ballfields. They removed a whopping 1,960 lbs. of trees and bushes—and they’re not done yet! They will mow and complete other finishing touches later this month. We’re so grateful to everyone who took time out of their day to help Rawlins shine brighter.
