Congratulations to Lou Lascano, Mickie Otto and Amber Yardley for winning the City of Rawlins annual employee awards for their exceptional work!
School Resource Officer Amber Yardley was selected as Employee of the Year. From her nomination “Officer Yardley is a valuable and appreciated member of the Rawlins Police Department, and a dedicated and skilled guardian of our community.” Staff at the schools who work daily with Officer Yardley shared that she “checks in with kids daily because she genuinely cares” and “ is one in a million.” “It’s not an easy task to build an environment of safety, empathy and understanding, but she has done it with warmth, compassion, and grace.”
Community Development Director Lou Lascano was awarded Supervisor of the Year. This honor is awarded for excellence in their job, support of staff, work with the public, assistance with additional tasks, and contribution to the City of Rawlins. From his nomination, “Lou has been instrumental in bringing several businesses to Rawlins…When staffing is low Lou is always the first to volunteer in front line operations… Lou is building a culture of excellence and accomplishment…He inspires everyone he comes into contact with… Lou is an exceptional leader, always encouraging staff, supporting staff, and always sharing a positive view of the future.”
Paralegal Mickie Otto of the City Attorney’s Office received the Max Dutton Award. The Max Dutton Award is presented annually to an employee who works to their best potential to make a difference in our community and to contribute to honest, efficient, responsive government. From her nomination, “Mickie demonstrates a steadfast commitment to excellence…Mickie has navigated the challenges of frequent leadership transitions with the City Attorney’s office with remarkable poise and guidance…Mickie’s steadfast dedication to the City, her tireless pursuit of efficiently and honesty, and her unwavering focus on the community’s best interests epitomize the qualities celebrated by the Max Dutton Award.”
