Black Hills Energy plans to donate a modular office building and furnishings to the City of Rawlins. The company recently vacated the modular unit and relocated into a new office space. The donation offer was made official during the Rawlins City Council meeting held on September 3, 2024.
“We were outgrowing the modular office space and working out of multiple locations, said Chris McMullen, Black Hills Energy’s supervisor of gas operations in Rawlins. “Our new location is more efficient, providing us with the additional office space needed for staff and a shop to accommodate our equipment. The company recently contacted the city to see if they could use the modular unit, we are pleased that they were able to identify a need.”
The city’s Parks & Recreation Director, Nikki Howell says the donation is much needed, and will be utilized by the Parks Department. “The City of Rawlins, and especially our hardworking Parks crew, are incredibly thankful for this donation,” said Howell. “This building will provide our team with updated features and more efficient workspaces, which will positively impact our crews for years. We cannot thank Black Hills Energy enough for their generosity to the City of Rawlins.”
“We are very proud to be able to provide the donation, said McMullen. “Our ongoing partnership with the city is very important to us, our hope is that this benefits the community as a whole.”
