Council Upcoming Meetings Notice

The agenda and council packet for Rawlins’ City Council’s Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. are available on BoardDocs at www.rawlinswy.gov/boarddocs. The public is encouraged to attend or watch the meetings remotely. Council work sessions and meetings are broadcast live and recorded on YouTube at www.rawlinswy.gov/youtube. Council meetings are held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 521 W. Cedar Street. There is no work session. 

There is a special council meeting on Friday, August 30th, 2024 at 11:00 am. 

Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 20th at 7:30 pm Council items include:   

  • Public Hearing and Second Reading to Amend Title 5:08 to add a section for general penalties for Business Alcoholic Beverages Violations 
  • Community Builder Award for August 2024 
  • Planning & Zoning Commission Resignation 
  • Reports from the Rawlins /Carbon County Airport Board, City Manager, City Attorney, and City Council
  • Approve Agenda, Minutes, Accounts Payable, and Payroll 
  • Executive Session - per WY Statute 16-4-405(a)(vii, ix). This may include action after the executive session.
  • No Work Session 

Special Meeting on Friday, August 30th at 11:00 am Council items are limited to: 

  • Public Hearing and Action on PZ 2408 001 for a Rezone/Zone change for all Bureau of Land Management (BLM) owned property located in Section 20, Township 21N, Range 87W, 6th P.M., within the municipal limits of the City of Rawlins, to exclude Parcel 1
  • Public Hearing and Action on Special Use Permit SUP 2408 002, submitted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), for a Special Use Permit pursuant to RMC 19.28.020 #37: Labor Camp - to install two (2) 8-person prebuilt modular firefighter housing units on Parcel 4. Located T21N, R87W NE Corner SE ¼ NW ¼ SEC. 20 (Parcel 4)

Regular City Council meetings include opportunities for citizens to communicate with the council. Citizen’s Participation is reserved for items not on the agenda. During agenda items, public comments may be accepted after council discussion. To address the Council during Citizen’s Participation or at other times during the meeting, please raise your hand and come to the podium once recognized by the mayor. Comments made on social media before or during meetings are not an official way of communicating with the governing body. We do not consistently monitor comments on the live stream of the meeting except to check on the sound levels or for other technical issues.

Rawlins City Council meetings are held every first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30p. Work sessions are sometimes held beforehand, typically at 6:00 pm.
