The City of Rawlins is proud to announce the selection of the Rawlins Fire Department Chief, Allen Robinson. Robinson has been promoted to Fire Chief after serving in the department since 1999.

City Manager Thomas Sarvey said, “Allen has proven his dedication to our community and to the Rawlins Fire Department through his decades of selfless service. His admirable record inspires trust, and his actions serve as a role model for Rawlins’ youth. I am happy to welcome Allen onto the team as our Fire Chief.”

Robinson is a Uinta County native who was raised on his family’s fourth-generation ranch.  He graduated from Evanston High School and Idaho State University. He moved to Rawlins in 1992 while working for Ricoh and quickly claimed Rawlins as home. He began volunteering for the Volunteer Fire Department in 1999 and joined as a full-time Fire Engineer in 2001. He was promoted to Shift Captain in 2007 and Battalion Chief in 2019. Robinson is also active in the first-responder community throughout the State. He is an Honor Guard Commander for the Wyoming LAST Team, which provides recognition for current and former fallen first responders. He also serves as the Vice-Chair for the Wyoming Fire Certification Committee.

Robinson said, “I have been part of the Rawlins community for a long time now and will strive to continue to provide high-quality service to anyone in need. The fire department is no longer just the “fire” department.  We are an all-hazards department, and when summoned for service, our duty is to provide the best possible support to everyone.  We are committed to Rawlins’ quality of life.”

Robinson is married to Karianne Robinson and is the proud father of four. He enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, and four-wheeling. He also dedicates time to working on his vintage tractor and ’81 Jeep. He is also a skilled woodworker who assists in school and church activities.
