Council Upcoming Meetings Notice

The agenda and council packet for Rawlins’ City Council’s Work Session and Regular Meeting on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. are available on BoardDocs at www.rawlinswy.gov/boarddocs. The public is encouraged to attend or watch the meetings remotely. Council work sessions and meetings are broadcast live and recorded on YouTube at www.rawlinswy.gov/youtube. Council meetings are held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 521 W. Cedar Street.

Two additional work sessions for review of the preliminary budget are scheduled for Thursday, April 18th, at 6 p.m. at City Hall and Saturday, April 20th, at 10 a.m. at the Hampton Inn. 

Council items on April 16th, 2024 include: 

  • Work Session - Discussion of City of Rawlins General and Landfill Fund Rates 
  • Executive Session per WY State Statute 16-4-405(a)(ii, iii, & ix) 
  • Public Hearing and Approve – Fee Changes for the General and Landfill Funds
  • Public Hearing and Approve – Parking of Cappy’s Retail Liquor License 
  • Proclamation – National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, and National Volunteer Week 
  • Presentation of Community Builder Award to Rawlins Elks Lodge 
  • Approve – Appointment to the Old Pen Joint Powers Board and Planning & Zoning Commission  
  • Reports from the City Manager, City Attorney, and Council
  • Discussion of Raven Take 
  • Approve Agenda, Minutes, and Payroll

Regular City Council meetings include opportunities for citizens to communicate with the council. Citizen’s Participation is reserved for items not on the agenda. During agenda items, public comments may be accepted after council discussion. To address the Council during Citizen’s Participation or at other times during the meeting, please raise your hand and come to the podium once recognized by the mayor. Comments made on social media before or during meetings are not an official way of communicating with the governing body. We do not consistently monitor comments on the live stream of the meeting except to check on the sound levels or for other technical issues.

Rawlins City Council meetings are held every first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30p. Work sessions are often held beforehand, typically at 6:00 pm.
