The City of Rawlins is excited to announce that Austin Gilbert has been hired as the new, full-time engineer for the municipality. Austin will be working side-by-side with our Public Works Department to plan, manage and oversee city projects.
Austin’s first day on the job was November 1st, 2021. He and his family moved from Colorado, where Austin worked as a professional engineer with the Colorado Department of Transportation. He said, “I’m really excited to be in Rawlins. I became an engineer to be able to use those skills to make a difference for people and communities, and I appreciate the trust and teamwork I’ve experienced already. My family is now living the dream of Wyoming.”
City Manager Shawn Metcalf said “Austin is an incredible addition to the City of Rawlins. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table that will benefit our community. I’m looking forward to seeing all the great things he’ll accomplish. Welcome, Austin!”
