Earlier today, the Rawlins Police Department (RPD) was contacted by Carbon County School District #1 (CCSD) personnel when they became aware of a potential threat situation. Due to the nature of the possible threat, the Higher Education Center went under lockdown and Rawlins High School went under lockout. RPD responded to the Higher Education Center and was able to intervene quickly. Through our investigation, we determined there was no actual threat to our school and community. The Rawlins Police Department and CCSD Administration always prioritize the safety of students and staff. We encourage anyone with potential information on a possible threat to report to the information to the authorities.
