The City of Rawlins is proud to announce that we have won Best Drinking Water in the State received at the Wyoming Association of Rural Water Conference in Casper on August 27, 2020. Water from around the state was judged on clarity, odor and taste. The City of Rawlins will now represent the State of Wyoming in Washington DC at the National Rural Water Rally in April 2021 to compete for Best Drinking Water in the United States.
Interim City Manager Dustin Ziebold stated “I am so proud of staff in the Water Department on their accomplishment. As I said in the State of the City Address, “We are on a path of success and transformation which will establish that the Water City, Rawlins, Wyoming, will be a leader in strengthening this county’s place in the state of Wyoming and the state of Wyoming’s place in these United States”. The success of our team in this competition further establishes our place as the Water City and as leader in both the County and State. I have the utmost confidence that we will go to Washington and represent the City in the best way possible and further establish us as a leader in these United States for our most prized resource, Water!!”
A special Congratulations goes to all of the treatment plant employees; Danny Rodriguez, Joe Langenderfer, Robert Nulle, Carly Brown and Stevie Osborn. Operations Manager Danielle Gross said, “I am proud of the treatment plant employees and their passion for their jobs. Their positive attitudes are contagious and the City is lucky to have such dedicated employees taking care of one of our most precious resources”.
