[ARCHIVED] Council Chambers Hold 50

council chambers

To the Rawlins Community:

On June 10th, Governor Mark Gordon issued revised Health Orders as related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We at the City have continued to monitor the ever changing requirements of these orders. In compliance of the orders and to allow the public to participate in City Council meetings, we have adjusted our seating in Council chambers.

The current Health Orders allow up to 50 people in an indoor room without social distancing. We have opened up all but 3 seats in the council chambers to allow 50 people in at a time. We have set aside the following reserved seats:
• 7 – Members of the City Council
• 3 – City Attorney, City Manager, and City Clerk
• 2 – Press ( 1 – Daily Times and 1 – Bigfoot 99)

This allows for up to 38 additional citizens to attend. In the event the seating available to the public is full, any person wishing to speak may notify the City Clerk or City Manager before the meeting and the section you wish to speak. When that section of the agenda is open those wishing to speak will be brought into the chambers in order to speak on the matter.

The City will be also be performing full sanitation practices prior to and following each meeting held in the City Council chambers.

The City of Rawlins is committed to following the orders passed down by the State of Wyoming and State Health Officer and will follow said orders in the event that anything in this plan falls in violation of those orders.

Your elected officials and city staff continue to monitor the situation and any new circumstances will be communicated to our citizens as information becomes available.

Interim City Manager Dustin Ziebold
