Congratulations to Steve Sanger on receiving the February 2026 Community Builder Award for his outstanding contributions to Rawlins! Steve generously gives hundreds of volunteer hours each year, sharing his time, talent, and passion to strengthen and beautify areas throughout Rawlins. From going above and beyond for downtown — planting flowers, maintaining lights, cleaning restrooms, supporting events, and serving on the board — to caring for the cemetery, adopting Triangle Park, serving as the fairgrounds concessionaire for 10 years in support of school programs, and helping with children’s holiday events, Steve consistently steps up wherever help is needed. His hands-on work and creative thinking help make Rawlins welcoming and full of life. When asked why he gives so much, Steve points to the importance of people and connection. He believes that whether someone gives a few dollars or a few hours of time, every contribution helps build a stronger community.
