Between August 26, 2025, and September 20, 2025, the Rawlins Police Department (RPD) received 17 reports of property destruction involving a projectile consistent with a BB or pellet. The damaged property included vehicles and structures, both businesses and privately owned. Many of the crimes were discovered by Rawlins police officers while canvassing after receiving initial reports. Due to the pattern of crimes having been committed over a period of time and area, RPD conducted an extensive investigation and identified a suspect. On October 9, 2025, RPD arrested a suspect. The defendant will not be identified until formal charges are filed with the Carbon County Circuit Court. The investigation is continuing and the RPD encourages anyone with information or unreported crimes to contact the RPD at (307) 328-4530.
