Council Upcoming Meetings Notice

The agenda and council packet for Rawlins’ City Council’s Regular Meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. are available on BoardDocs at www.rawlinswy.gov/boarddocs. The public is encouraged to attend or watch the meetings remotely. Council work sessions and meetings are broadcast live and recorded on YouTube at www.rawlinswy.gov/youtube. Council meetings are held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 521 W. Cedar Street.


Council items include:

  • Public Hearing and Approval of a Special Use Permit for a taller Telecommunications Tower near the “Hospital Water Tank” northeast of the El Rancho area
  • Third Reading of a Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance
  • Landfill Fee Waiver Requests for Mass Grading & Kenny and Salena Ogburn
  • Authorization of Half Day Closures for Christmas and New Years Eve
  • Selection of Delegate for Wy Association of Municipalities Winter Workshop in Jan
  • Fire Civil Service Commission Appointment  
  • Reports from the Old Pen Joint Powers Board, City Manager, City Attorney, and City Council
  • Approve Agenda, Minutes, Accounts Payable, and Payroll
  • Executive Session - per WY Statute 16-4-405(a) (ii, ix, vii). This may include action after the executive session.

Regular City Council meetings include opportunities for citizens to communicate with the council. Citizen’s Participation is reserved for items not on the agenda. During agenda items, public comments may be accepted after council discussion. To address the Council during Citizen’s Participation or at other times during the meeting, please raise your hand and come to the podium once recognized by the mayor. Comments made on social media before or during meetings are not an official way of communicating with the governing body. We do not consistently monitor comments on the live stream of the meeting except to check on the sound levels or for other technical issues.

Rawlins City Council meetings are held every first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30p. Work sessions are sometimes held beforehand, typically at 6:00 pm.
