[ARCHIVED] Conserve Water Now - break on line to in-town water tanks

Conserve water now

Update as of 5:00 pm: The line from the treatment plant to the in-town water tanks has been repaired. The clamp has been installed, and water is being turned on and will start filling both tanks by late this evening. Please feel free to use water for all normal household uses.

THANK YOU to everyone who conserved water today. This helped keep our tanks full around 50% and prevented any other issues.
******

Update as of 2:00pm: Our crews have dug down to the pipe and found a fist-size hole. We are clamping the pipe and then will begin the water flow. We expect the pipe repair to be complete and water flowing to the Hospital and Painted Hills tanks by late afternoon.
******

Update as of 8:15 am: Our crews have found the potential location of the break. We have called in an emergency 811 locate so we can dig. We will then assess the type of repair needed.

As of 8am both tanks have enough water for all needed uses. We ask the community to conserve from high water uses such as showering, dishes, laundry, etc.

If the water can be maintained in the tanks, no further issues should arise.
*********

Notice: There is a break on the water line from the water treatment plant to the painted hills tank and hospital tank.

Please conserve water until the break is fixed - take short showers, postpone laundry, etc. The tanks are dropping; it is critical that water remains in the tanks to prevent further issues.

Our crews cannot find the break in the dark. Some homes may not have water as some large lines from the tanks to homes are being closed to help maintain tank levels.

Updates will be posted regularly.
