On Thursday, July 20th, 2023, at 8:52 pm, the Rawlins Police Department received reports of shots fired near Gallup St. and 16th St in Rawlins. Thankfully, we are relieved to report that no injuries have been reported due to this incident, and no damage has been located to any nearby property.
Officers were dispatched to the scene to ensure public safety and to investigate. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel discovered evidence of discharged firearms, including spent shell casings, and gathered information from witnesses and residents in the area.
We urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information that could aid the investigation to come forward and assist. We have attached a video, which includes a pickup that was seen leaving the area at the time of the call and may be related. Your cooperation is essential in maintaining a safe environment for all community members.
